About Facilitators:

Amanda (MSW, RSW, BSW, MHFA Instructor) has over 12 years experience working in community mental health and substance use. She is a Registered Social Worker in British Columbia (Masters of Social Work & a Bachelors of Social Work), and has a private counselling practice in addition to being a Mental Healt First Aid Instructor. She has fulfilled roles including mental health clinician, prevention specialist, outreach social worker, clinical counsellor and community educator. Amanda practises from a strengths based and trauma informed approach, and is delighted to offer this Mental Health First Aid – Virtual course. Participants can expect a fun and engaging training environment!

Jen Donovan (MA, BA, HTC, MHFA Instructor) is a mom, an avid traveler, and a seasoned leadership and professional consultant with over 15 years of experience in social and health services. She holds a Master’s in Leadership and a Bachelor of Arts, and is a Holistic Trained Coach (ICF eligible) with a career including roles such as Mental Health First Aid Instructor since 2018, Addictions Counsellor for Youth, Youth Services Consultant, Healthcare Policy Writer, Mental Health and Substance Use Program Developer, Mental Health and Substance Use Project Manager, and Clinical Supervisor in healthcare leadership.

In addition to her coaching and consulting work, Jen serves as a Regional Lead at Vancouver Coastal Health, where she supports the regional oversight for the Adult ADHD Clinic, novel treatments for Difficult-to-Treat Depression, the BC Psychosis Program, and the Workforce Development Agreement.  Additionally, she contributes as a contract faculty member in Applied Community Studies at Douglas College.

Jen’s approach focuses on building sustainable systems and team strategies that enhance well-being, organizational culture, and long-term success for both staff and clients across diverse sectors.
