The Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Certification Course builds the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to support someone who may be experiencing a decline in their mental well-being or a mental health or substance use crisis—until professional help becomes available.

This evidence-based training equips participants to respond with empathy, practical strategies, and calm confidence while also emphasizing the importance of maintaining one’s own well-being. The course is part of a global movement that has reached more than 8 million learners across 35 countries.

Course Format:
The MHFA Certification is an immersive, 2-day (12-hour) program designed for applied learning. Training introduces the evidence-based ALGES framework:

  • Approach the person, assess and assist with any crisis

  • Listen and communicate non-judgmentally

  • Give reassurance and information

  • Encourage professional and other supports

  • Support self-care for both the person and yourself

Cancellation Policy:

Should the course be cancelled; advance notice and alternative dates will be provided or a full refund will be made.

If a participant cancels their registration the refunded amount will depend on when we are notified:

  • 45 or more days prior to course date: Full refund
  • 30-44 days prior to course date: 50% refund
  • Less than 30 days prior to course date: Non-refundable

If a participant does not complete Module 1 of the course by the specified deadline, then that participant is not eligible for a refund and their registration is non-transferrable.
